The software is a user-friendly spreadsheet that links the worksheets
in the manual. Each worksheet in the manual is in the software.
The software is menu and button-driven. By clicking buttons, dialog
boxes will prompt the user for information relative to that chapter
worksheet.
Based on the options chosen by the user, the software
will calculate costs. These should serve as guidelines for investment
and operating costs of different structures, facilities, feeding
systems, and other inputs. All estimates can and should be adjusted
for each unique farm resource situation.
The interactive nature of the software tracks changes within and
between chapters. Also, each worksheet can be printed for easy comparison.
