Alejandro is a Research Assistant in the Agricultural Policy Analysis Center. He is a graduate of the University of Belgrano, Argentina, with a B.S. in Agricultural Economics and an M.B.A. In 2005, he received an M.S. in Agricultural Economics from the University of Tennessee, where he is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Economics. Alejandro previously worked as an assistant manager in the Bank of the City of Buenos Aires and a manager of El Brasero S.C.A., where he conducted financial and economic analysis of farm operations. Then, serving as a consultant, he developed a blueberry export business plan for a farmer’s cooperative and a pivot irrigation project for row crops. He also worked as a volunteer in the Argentinean national extension agricultural program, where he contributed to the development of disadvantaged farmers by teaching them better business practices. His main focus of research as part of the Agricultural Policy Analysis Center is international trade and greenhouse gas emissions. He is also fluent in French and Spanish.
