Assistantships and Financial Aid
Graduate research assistantships are available through the Department. The M.S. research assistantship stipends are $1,200 per month for 2 years for thesis students and $1,100 per month for 3 semesters for Agribusiness Concentration, non-thesis students (note: the internship time period is excluded). In addition to the stipend, both in- and out-of-state tuition, and health insurance, are paid by the Department. The values of the annual stipend, health insurance, and tuition are:
Thesis
In-state: stipend ($14,400) + health insurance ($960) + tuition ($2,954 per semester)
Out-of-state: stipend ($14,400) + health insurance ($960) + tuition ($5,971 per semester)
Agribusiness Non-Thesis
In-state: stipend ($9,900) + health insurance ($720) + tuition ($2,954 per semester)
Out-of-state: stipend ($9,900) + health insurance ($720) + tuition ($5,971 per semester)
Assistantship holders devote 20 hours (half time) per week to Departmental research. Assistantships are awarded on a competitive basis. Although applications can be awarded anytime, for the greatest chance of acceptance, apply at least 6 months before enrollment. Click to print an Assistant Application form.
Workships are also offered depending on Department needs. Payment is on an hourly basis. Students may work up to 20 hours per week on a workship program. In addition, scholarships and financial aid are available (Visit the Financial Aid Office site)
Fees all students must pay
These fees are based on each fiscal year's budget and are subject to change.
In-state: $406 per semester to cover a $100 technology fee, a $250 programs and services fee, $26 transportation fee, and a $30 facilities fee.
Out-of-state: $556 per semester to cover a $100 technology fee, a $250 programs and services fee, $26 transportation fee, and a $180 facilities fee.
